Sea Salt Hoops

Simple, modern earrings, handmade in Ireland, using plastic collected from the coastline of East Cork, set in jesmonite eco-resin. 2 cm jesmonite pendants are hung on stainless steel wine glass hoops.

The Sea Salt hoops are made using ghost rope, or ghost netting. This is netting that has been lost or discarded by fishermen, and it poses a huge threat to whales and dolphins, turtles, fish, and many other marine creatures. It is estimated that 46% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is made up of ghost nets!

In creating these earrings, this plastic is removed from our oceans forever. And while I only use a small amount of plastic in the earrings, much more is removed from our coastline during these beach cleans.

Your purchase allows me to continue cleaning our beautiful beaches, and my hope for these earrings is that they will prompt conversations around marine pollution, and plastic waste in particular.

Your earrings will be supplied in recycled, and fully recyclable, sustainable packaging, which, if possible, I’d encourage you to reuse!
